It is with sadness we chronicle the death of one of our best citizens, Mr. Henry Roddenbery. For ten months Mr. Roddenbery bore his suffering with Christian fortitude. He leaves a large family to mourn their loss.
DEATH OF MRS. SARAH A. BAKER. This well known Christian lady died last Saturday night at 7:30 after a lingering illness of about one year. She was about sixty years of age and had been a consistent member of the Methodist Church since a girl of fourteen. She was also a member of the Class No. One of the Christian Laymen Workers Association and was the first and only member of that class that has died since its organization. She requested just before her death that when she was gone her name should remain on the roll of membership. Funeral services were held at her residence yesterday by Rev. George W. Mathews at 5:30 and the remains were carried to Charlton County this morning to be laid to rest in the Mills Church yard beside her husband, two daughters and numerous friends who had gone before. She leaves a number of grown children, one of whom is near death's door.
